Costa Rica showed no mercy and beat 4-0 in their visit to Cuba

On Day 2 of Group G of the 2023 CONCACAF Under-17 Championship tournament, Costa Rica showed their full potential at the Doroteo Guamuch Flores Stadium and beat Cuba 4-0. Roy Bustos (3′ 1T), Andryk Sandi (10′ 1T), Víctor Maroto (20′ 1T) and Akheem Wilson (33′ 2T) were the authors of Costa Rica’s crushing victory at the Doroteo Guamuch Flores stadium.

In the 10th minute of the first stage, Andryk Sandi cheered up Costa Rica and received all the applause. After an individual play on the right, the midfielder finished the goal from the box door and put the ball on the left post. Impossible for the goalkeeper!

Cuban midfielder Yansiel Reinoso took the ball and shot, but the stick denied him the chance to score after 15 minutes of the first half.

The party figure was Roy Bustos. The Costa Rica forward showed his best by scoring 1 goal, shooting 5 times in the opposite goal and completing 27 correct passes.

Claudio Montero also played a good game. The Costa Rican midfielder completed 19 correct passes.

In the 63rd minute of the second leg, midfielder Claudio Montero lifted the crowd with a pipe to Maikol Vega.

It was a closed duel, marked by interruptions and faults. There were a large number of warnings: Maikol Vega, Yansiel Reinoso, Issac Badilla, Lizardo Hernández, Jade Quiñones, Enmanuel Rivera and Víctor Cutiño.

Cuban strategist, Sandro Sevillano stopped the starting XI with a 4-4-2 formation with Isuhanis Pérez in goal; Yeasy Quiñones, Geordanis Tellez, Cristian Pérez and Víctor Cutiño on the defensive line; Yansiel Reinoso, Lainier Juanes, Maikol Vega and Diego Vento in the middle; and Lizardo Hernández and Didier Reinoso in attack.

For their part, the elected officials of Erick Rodríguez entered the field with a 4-4-2 pattern with Emmanuel Garita under the three sticks; Isaac Badilla, Andry Naranjo, Walter Ramirez and Bryan Morales in defense; Andryk Sandi, Claudio Montero, Víctor Maroto and Randy Peña in midfield; and Oscar Segura and Roy Bustos in front.

The judge chosen to officiate the match at Doroteo Guamuch Flores Stadium was Shavin Greene.

For the next date, Cuba will play at home against Guadalupe and Costa Rica will host Jamaica.
