Cosori will recall more than 2 million air fryers that have been sold in Mexico, the United States and Canada due to the risk of fire due to their wired connection overheating.
The United States Consumer Product Safety Commission announced the recall on Thursday. The agency said consumers should immediately stop using air fryers.
The recall covers various model numbers in the 3.5 liter and 5.4 liter (3.7 and 5.8 quart) sizes. All units have Cosori branding on the front.
The implicated air fryers were sold between June 2018 and December 2022 at Best Buy, Target and Home Depot stores, as well as online at Amazon, Walmart and other retailers. They cost between $70 and $130.
Consumers should contact Cosori at recall.cosori.com to receive a free replacement air fryer or other product. Customers will need to provide their contact details and a photo of the product they are returning. It is not necessary to present the receipt of purchase.
The Cosori brand is owned by Vesync, based in Shenzhen, China. The company has received 205 reports of air fryers catching fire, burning, melting, overheating or smoking. According to the agency, there were 10 cases of minor burns and 23 cases of minor property damage.
