BEIJING, March 3 (Reuters) – China opposes the United States placing two subsidiaries of major genetics company BGI on a trade blacklist, the Chinese Foreign Ministry said on Friday.

China urges the United States to stop using any excuse to suppress Chinese companies, Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Mao Ning said at a press briefing.

The US Department of Commerce, which oversees export controls, added BGI Research and BGI Tech Solutions (Hong Kong) to the export control list.
