The Spanish Carolina Marín, reigning Olympic badminton champion, qualified for the final of the Thailand Open after beating South Korean Se Young An 21-18 and 21-16 in 51 minutes of the game.

It was not a comfortable victory against the seventh favorite of the tournament, since the game was very even in both sets and only the quality of the player from Huelva, the fifth seed, led to victory.

Both players had already met three times with two victories for Marín. In the end, Carolina Marín will face the winner of the match between the Taiwanese Tzu Ying Tai, first favorite of the tournament, and the Danish Mia Blichfeldt.
