LOUIS (AP) — The St. Louis Cardinals have extended the contract of president of basketball operations John Mozeliak through the end of the 2025 season, the team announced Tuesday.

Mozeliak, 54, is the National League’s longest serving president of operations. Cardinals CEO Bill DeWitt Jr. said last month that he was happy with Mozeliak and wanted him to stay.

Last season, the Cardinals won the NL Central and tied the franchise record of 15 consecutive win-loss seasons.

Mozeliak has been with the organization since 1995 and has led operations since 2007, first as general manager and in his current position since 2017. His contract expired after the 2023 season.
