Francisco Javier Cabeza de Vaca, former governor of Tamaulipas, will seek to be a presidential candidate in the 2024 elections. This was revealed on March 1, just a day after announcing that a judge had suspended the warrant for his arrest. for alleged money laundering. and organized crime.

“I will wait for the time to register as a candidate for the presidential candidacy; what is at stake in 2024 goes beyond an election,” he said in an interview with Manuel López San Martín at MVS.

Cabeza de Vaca assured that, as mentioned before, he was not doubled or sold despite the situation he was in. He also thanked the members of the National Action Party (PAN) who supported him.

“I’ve always said it, I don’t bend or sell myself, it’s not going to change, it’s part of my beliefs. I want to thank the support of many leaders, both civilians and my party.”

Among those who have supported him despite the accusations against him is Marko Cortés, national president of the PAN, who this year recognized him as president.

“The only thing that the government of López Obrador did was to seek to discredit him, because he defended Tamaulipas, he sought more resources for his state because he did not allow himself to be sold and doubled as he offered in the campaign, so in the PAN we are very proud because we have very good couriers”, he indicated on January 26.
