Audax Italiano and O’Higgins sealed a two-way tie

Audax I. and O’Higgins tied 2-2 at the Bicentenario Municipal stadium in La Florida this Monday, in a match for date 8 of the Chile – Betsson 2023 Championship.

The goals of the match for the local were scored by Gonzalo Ríos (23′ 1T) and Osvaldo Bosso (34′ 1T). While the away goals were scored by Esteban Moreira (15′ 1T) and Diego González (45′ 2T).

An excellent play from O’Higgins, 15 minutes into the first half, moved the scoring through Esteban Moreira. Matías Marín managed to assist with a pass to the striker, who with a header managed to score on the right post of the rival goal.

Although O’Higgins had plenty of the ball (60% on average), the chances created didn’t end in the opposing goal and failed to break parity.

The best player of the game was Diego González. Defender O’Higgins had a good level, scoring 1 goal, retiring 4 balls and clearing 5 dangerous balls.

Matías Sepúlveda was another of the key players. The Audax Italiano midfielder was precise with 38 effective passes and stole 5 balls.

The game was notable for a lot of friction and constant fouls that cut the match short. There were a large number of warnings: Michael Fuentes, Brian Torrealba, Fernando Juárez, Esteban Moreira, Carlos Labrín, Camilo Moya, Joaquín Muñoz, Fabián Hormazábal, Ignacio González and Gonzalo Álvarez. Meanwhile, Pablo De Muner’s side entered the field in a 4-4-2 format with Ignacio González under the three sticks; Diego González, Fabián Hormazábal, Brian Torrealba and Nicolás Thaller in defence; Valentín Larralde, Pablo Hernández, Matías Marín and Camilo Moya in midfield; and Esteban Moreira and Arnaldo Castillo up front.

Juan Lara was the referee who officiated the match at the Bicentenario Municipal Stadium in La Florida.

Audax I.’s next match in the league will be as a visitor against U. La Calera, while O’Higgins will host Coquimbo Unido.

With this result, the host of the match reaches 6 points and is in fifteenth place. For its part, the visiting team remains at 9 units and occupies the tenth place of the tournament.
