This Monday, Municipal managed to take the three points during his trip to Melgar, on date 4 of the Peru – Liga 1 Betsson 2023 tournament. The visitor’s goals were scored by Diego Soto (12′ 2T) and Fernando Pacheco (21 ‘2T).

A great play from Municipal, 12 minutes into the second half, was the one to move the score through Diego Soto. After an individual move down the left, the midfielder placed it at the left post and below. Impossible for the goalkeeper!

Although Melgar had the advantage on penalties (16 against 5), it was not enough and he was beaten by Deportivo Municipal. Of the total number of shots, 9 were targeted and 7 ended outside.

The best man of the match was Steven Rivadeneyra. The Deportivo Municipal goalkeeper excelled by stopping 5 shots.

Diego Soto was another of the key players. The Deportivo Municipal midfielder scored 1 goal and looked for the opposite goal 3 times.

The match was cut short due to the number of fouls committed by both teams. The reprimands were numerous: Cristian Bordacahar, Kevin Peña, Rotceh Aguilar, Walter Tandazo, Leonardo Rugel, Alejandro Ramos, Christopher Olivares, Leonel Galeano, Alec Deneumostier and Fernando Evangelista.

Melgar’s coach Pablo Lavallén proposed a 4-3-3 formation with Carlos Cáceda in goal; Alejandro Ramos, Alec Deneumostier, Leonel Galeano and Paolo Reyna on the defensive line; Alexis Arias, Walter Tandazo and Tomás Martínez in the middle; and Cristian Bordacahar, Pablo Magnín and Luis Iberico in attack.

For their part, Angel Comizzo’s team entered the field with a 4-5-1 pattern with Steven Rivadeneyra under the three sticks; Fernando Evangelista, Leonardo Rugel, Rotceh Aguilar and Jair Céspedes in defense; Kevin Peña, Diego Soto, Fernando Pacheco, Augusto Solís and Orlando Gaona Lugo in midfield; and Christopher Olivares up front.

Referee Michael Espinoza was in charge of supervising the match at the UNSA Monumental stadium.
