The glowing orb, suspended almost at arm’s length, forms a magical backdrop amid the greenery and fountains of the historic park in this Spanish-inspired city.

“We are celebrating a very important and special event for the city, which for 100 years has focused on art, history and culture,” city mayor Vince Lago told EFE.
