With a thrilling second half, Arsenal rallied and turned to maintain control of the Premier League lead on Saturday and secured a dramatic victory over Bournemouth on virtually the last game of the game.

Reiss Nelson – a substitute who has only played his third league game of the season – was the unexpected goalscorer in the seventh minute of added time. A left-footed shot from the edge of the box sealed the 3-2 victory at the Emirates Stadium.

Arsenal scored all three after the 61st minute just as relegation-threatened Bournemouth looked set to secure one of their most unexpected wins. He took the lead after 9.11 seconds on a Phillip Billing goal. The second fastest goal in league history.

Nothing changed in the end in the fight for the league title after Manchester City keeper beat Newcastle 2-0 at home and kept the pressure on Arsenal.

The top two spots are separated by five points with 12 games to go.

There was only one big goal at Stamford Bridge, when Wesley Fofana headed in from a corner to give Chelsea a 1-0 win over Leeds and take some of the pressure off manager Graham Potter.

It was just the second win in 11 games in all competitions for the London side, who are stuck in the middle of the table despite spending $630m over the last two transfer windows.

Fourth-placed Tottenham lost 1-0 to Wolverhampton, Brighton crushed West Ham 4-0 and Aston Vill beat Crystal Palace 1-0 at home.
