Angela Merkel’s party suffers a wide defeat in two regional elections in Germany

The conservative party of the German Chancellor, Angela Merkel, suffered extensive defeats in two regional elections this Sunday, according to exit polls.

In Baden-Wuerttemberg, the center-right CDU of Merkel It only achieved 23 percent of the vote in the regional election won – as in 2016 – by the Vede Party with 31%, according to the poll.
