An armed group murdered five people at their home in Cajeme, Sonora

Tuesday night was dyed red after the execution of five people In the state of Sound, within the municipality of cash me after several detonations while they were at home.

According to local media reports, he was three men and two women which were located at an address on Álvaro Obregón and Jesús Lugo streets, in the neighborhood Francisco Urbalejo from the Esperanza police station.

It was around 7:00 p.m. that the tragic event is said to have happened when armed men entered the house and executed the five with bullets, although the relationship they had was not disclosed nor the possible reasons which would have motivated the crime.

After the detonations stopped, local residents informed the authorities, who went to the scene and found the victims dead and with injuries caused by the gunfire.

In this regard, the report of the Ministry of Public Security (SSP) when denouncing the facts, they deployed elements belonging to the three levels of government to find the perpetrators presumed to have committed the multi-homicide.

They also reported that investigations are underway to find those responsible, as up to the time of publication, no arrests have been reported by authorities.

These new victims are added 124 intentional homicides recorded as is during the month of January 2023, of which 76 were with a gunor in the state of Sonora, according to data from the Executive Secretariat of the National Public Safety System (SESNSP) with an update date of February 20.

While in 2022 there were recordings 132 intentional homicides, 92 executed with a firearm. Throughout the year there were one thousand 443 intentional homicides including 992 with a firearm.

Despite this, intentional homicides have been on the decline since 2018, this being the one where 1,745 were recorded and the following year 1,622. But in 2021, it has seen a rebound reaching 1,600.

On the other hand, the violence seems endless, since on March 2 there was a filming near facilities Industrial Technological Baccalaureate and Services (CBTIS 37) in Cajeme which sowed terror among the students who took shelter as best they could.

The facts were recorded in videos shared on social networks where students can be seen running around the neighborhood. Fortunately, the students were not injured despite the fact that the fight took place a few meters from the school.

In one of the recordings it was possible to see students running in a yard while one of them recorded the facts with his mobile phone. While in another video, a group of young people, apparently inside the facilities, had to fall back on the ground before the shots.

However, authorities confirmed via social media that two people were killed in the shooting, which was a direct attack. The attackers’ unit was abandoned and drugs were found there, although the type or quantity was not specified. Elements of the State Police came to the scene to provide support and open investigations.
