The National Action Party (PAN) criticized this Friday the decision of the president Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador not to deliver the Presidency of the Pacific Alliance in Peruwhere applicable, considering that the government of Dina Boluarte is “fake”.

Through a press release, the opposition party indicated that the said action is “marked by its ideology on international issues” and aims to support “his authoritarian friends in the region”in reference to the former Andean president Pedro Castillosacked and imprisoned last December after a failed coup.

“Le recordamos a López Obrador que el gobierno de Dina Boluarte en Perú entró en funciones de acuerdo a lo que dicta su Constitución y que fue Pedro Castillo el qu’estó dar un golpe de Estado, le exigimos que deje de intervener en los asuntos internals de this country”

In the document signed by the deputy Mariana Gómez del Campo, Secretary for International Affairs of the CEN of the PAN, it was emphasized that the spirit of the Alliance, made up of Mexico, Peru, Chile and Colombia, “is that of economic integration, common policy and cooperation” and that the framework agreement that governs the group details the deadlines and the procedure by which López Obrador should cede the presidency to Boluarte.

“López Obrador cannot make a unilateral decision regarding the transfer of the presidency pro tempore of the Pacific Alliance to Peru”
