The constant criticism of President Andrés Manuel is not new Lopez Obrador (AMLO) towards the judiciary, in particular, against Supreme Court of Justice of the Nation (SCJN) which he pointed out as being “rife with corruption”.

Hence his insistence on promoting judicial reform, in order to “clean up the justice system” and try judges in collusion with suspected criminals. A responsibility which, he reproached him, should be in charge of the Federal Judicial Council“This institution does nothing. It is there as vase and ornament. Which judge was judged, ”he said in his traditional Morning.

However, despite the efforts it has undertaken to this end, but guaranteeing the autonomy of the power in charge of Norma Pina Hernandezthe managing director acknowledged that the strategy he had chosen to do so it was not successful.

“It didn’t go over very well for me to say it. (…) I could not”.

López Obrador’s failure to reform the judiciary has led, he says, to the poor selection of proposals for the short list of SCJN ministers.

However, Andrés Manuel admitted to having made a mistake in the choice of his options.

“It didn’t go very well for me, let’s say, because my goal was (…) to propose four ministers out of 11 and to promote renewal. I was wrong about what I offered. Not all of them of course.”

Although he did not specify who or in what way they find them ineffective, the chief executive has listed at another point the characteristics that the next presidential list should have, and which – perhaps – would have corrupted some of his proposals.

“Integrity, not employees of economic or political power. True givers of justice and incorruptible”, he underlined from the lectern of the National Palace with reluctance to point out which of his proposals did not respect these characteristics already in his mandate to the Court.
