President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador (AMLO) visited Oaxaca and recalled the ttransformations that the country has undergonesince its founding as an independent nation, as well as the role that the people have had in consolidating the independent nation.

Although he made an analysis of the Independence of Mexico, the Mexican president turned to the governments that took place after the Mexican Revolution and the Porfiriato, in which the Institutional Revolutionary Party (PRI) governed for more of seven decades, in addition to the two six-year terms of the National Action Party (PAN), which he accuses of having to have delivered the goods of the nation.

“Governments before ours delivered the goods of the nation individuals, especially foreigners. Oil, electricity, railways, mines, banks, businesses and abandonment of the people”, were the words evoked by the chief executive.

In addition to the above, he criticized the fact that for 36 years the minimum wage in Mexico remained one of the lowest in the world, a reason he listed among the many why the population decided give him his vote of confidence to the National Regeneration Movement (Morena) to govern, a movement which he said demonstrated with facts that things had to be done differently.

“For 36 years, from 1983 to 2018 when we arrived, (the minimum wage in Mexico) was one of the lowest in the world. That’s why people decided to make a change and that’s why we talk about the Fourth Transformation”

Likewise, the Tabasco politician judged that his administration was dedicated to eradicate corruption that for years he remained in the Mexican state, in addition to returning control of political decisions to the citizens, since he pointed out that for years only the elites were in the governments.

“We already ordered and we managed to save a lot (of money) because there was also a lot that was stolen. They always said: ‘There is no budget. Lie! Yes there was, yes there is a budget, the problem was corruption, they stole it. Now it’s not allowed anymore,” he said.
