While the transition to a resilient and decarbonized economy is already underway and accelerating globally, it is true that there is still much to do. Currently, 59 countries – whose total emissions are equivalent to 54% of global greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions – have formalized their goal of achieving net zero emissions by 2050. And Argentina is one of them.

At the corporate level, awareness and action on environmental issues, both at the societal and corporate level – whether in SMEs or large corporations – has increased by leaps and bounds. A large number of companies are already working with great commitment on the issue and have joined the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), but there are others who are still lagging behind. And now is the time to act.

While it is true that in recent years, world leaders have faced a challenging world that has surprised them with a pandemic, geopolitical conflicts, economic uncertainty and supply chain disruptions, among other issues, business leaders continue to uphold the importance of working to leave a better world.

This conviction and commitment is reflected in the CXO Sustainability Report 2023: Accelerating the green transition published by the consulting firm Deloitte, in which more than 2,000 people participated. Head of Experience (CXO) from 24 countries. 64% said climate change will have a high/very high impact on their organization’s strategy and operations over the next three years.

A large number of companies are already working with great commitment on the issue and have joined the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), but there are others who are still lagging behind.

For a company to be considered on the path to sustainability, it must now demonstrate that it has management processes in place to guarantee the quality of its products, that it takes into account the environmental impact of its activities and the social impact on its employees and the community community. All this framed by good corporate governance practices, making ethics and integrity the means to operate with absolute transparency.

The world is in constant motion and does not stop to wait for us. This is why it is essential to act in this area and to place the protection of the environment among the priorities of organizations.
