A new telluric movement was recorded in the Tuesday morning, on March 12, in Colombia. According to the Colombian Geological Service (SGC) – the entity responsible for carrying out the monitoring and surveillance of threats of geological origin in the country – it has reached a magnitude of 4.2 on the Richter scale and its epicenter was the municipality of Los Santos, Santander, at a depth of 150 kilometers.

According to the conversation that several users have started in the networks, the tremor was strongly felt in Bucaramanga and, to a lesser extent, in other parts of the north, center and east of the country. However, the emergency services did not report any damage or casualties due to this natural phenomenon.
The Los Santos earthquake was not followed by aftershocks, but 57 minutes later the Geological service recorded a second tremor in the early morning. This time at 1:04 a.m., with a magnitude of 3.1 degrees and the superficial depth, being the Pacific Oceannear the Chocean coasts, its epicentre.

In the early hours of Friday March 10, the country recorded a Magnitude 5.9 earthquake on the Richter scale that woke up the inhabitants of Bogotá, Medellín and Bucaramanga. Since then, Colombians have feared that it could happen again, especially after learning of the devastation of the 7.8 magnitude earthquake, recorded in the early morning of February 6, which caused the death of tens of thousands of people and considerable damage in Turkish and Syrian territory.
Thus, once the sun rises, the @IDIGER and the entire emergency system of the city district are on alert and after the earthquake felt in Bogotá. We are carrying out the relevant surveillance and we are attentive to possible emergencies, ”said the entity on its official Twitter account, in a publication in which it also attached images of preventive evacuations in buildings in the Teusaquillo and Salitre sectors.
Meanwhile, some citizens, in the same social network, shared their experience and the fear they had in different cities:

“I felt it in Medellin. 20th floor. He started light, stopped and jerked off hard. Since living in this house, I have not felt the movement of many tremors. As if the energy was dissipating up to this Floor. Today I felt again…”, said Ana Milena Arbeláez (@AnaMilenaArbel5).
“The bed moved strongly. I woke up. Alarms sounded to evacuate. Bogotá,” said Sonia Arteta (@soniaarteta).
“In Bogotá, he felt strong! After many years, the bed moved very strongly (sic),” said JohaClaro (@jclarck28).
Los Santos, the municipality where the earthquakes of March 10 and 14 were born, which were felt over a large part of the territory, is a seismic nodein fact, the second most active in the world, only behind the mountain range known as Hindu Kushlocated on the border between Afghanistan and Pakistan.
Which means that, in both regions, an unusual concentration of continuous seismic activity can be observed, at which, for better or for worse, its inhabitants they are already enough.
