In this regard, the Nation’s Transportation Management Secretary, Jimena Lopezone of the officials who led the meeting as a mediator said that “this ministry is receptive to all proposals to set a benchmark tariff because development is important to us”, while the undersecretary for transport nation cars, Laura Labat, another of the portfolio authorities present at the meeting, said that “everyone’s participation is very important. Among the carriers were representatives of the Argentine Confederation of Automobile Goods Transport (CATAC); the Federation of Argentine Transporters (FETRA); the Argentine Federation of Merchandise Transport Companies (FADEEAC); and the Argentine Federation of Transport and Logistics Entities (FAETYL), while members of the Argentine Rural Confederations (CRA), the Argentine Agrarian Federation (FAA) and the Federation of Collecting Trade Centers and Entities negotiated from the sector grain production.

This agreement was reached in a context where a group of carriers in the grain freight sector, belonging to the Chamber of Road Carriers of the Civil Association of the Industrial Cordon of San Lorenzo (CACISLAC), they led a series of protests and strikes with temporary roadblocks earlier this month in many provinces demanding compliance with the “full tariff” established in the latest sectoral agreement.
