YouTube will integrate the chapters of the videos in the search results, among other rather interesting new features

YouTube is a constantly evolving platform. It must be said that there is a lot to do around video. This means simplifying access to the content sought by users. To do this, the American giant has decided to integrate the chapters of the videos in the search results.

YouTube will embed video chapters in search results

One of the recent big features of YouTube was the introduction of chapters. This allows creators to split their videos into different sections for easier navigation. And YouTube intends to make the most of this addition. These will soon be used to shape search results and provide users with more accurate videos.

This means for example that if you are looking for something very specific and not a full video, in which some sections would not be of interest to you, YouTube will directly suggest the chapters to you that may meet your search.

This sounds very interesting and should save users a number of steps, and therefore time, when looking for something in a video.

Among other rather interesting novelties

Other changes announced by YouTube for an upcoming rollout include previews in mobile search results. You will be able to see a small window before clicking on the video in question. YouTube should also expand to other languages in its search results.

So if the algorithm does not find what you are looking for in your primary language, it will attempt to find content in other languages and then show you the automatically translated captions, titles and descriptions.

According to the YouTube statement, these changes will primarily be applied to videos in English first. They are currently being tested in India and Indonesia but more countries should be affected in the future according to feedback from early users.
