Xiaomi’s turn to enter the foldable screen smartphone market. The Chinese manufacturer recently unveiled its Xiaomi Mi Mix Fold in a Presentation.
Smartphones with a foldable screen are still quite rare, there are models on the fingers of the hand. But brands are working on their own on such devices. Apple, for example, would be hard at work. Today, after Samsung, Huawei or Motorola, it is Xiaomi which markets its first foldable screen smartphone, the Xiaomi Mi Mix Fold.
Xiaomi launches its first foldable screen smartphone
Foldable screen technology has been around for some time now, but it is still very difficult, and tricky, to make such a panel for smartphones. Few of the manufacturers still have such a device on the market.
This is the case of Samsung, which has also hastened to multiply the variants to drown, so to speak, the products of Huawei and Motorola which were trying to penetrate this market. Today there is a new player in the game, Xiaomi.
The Xiaomi Mi Mix Fold arrives in China
The Chinese company has indeed officially announced the launch of its own foldable screen smartphone, the Xiaomi Mi Mix Fold. In terms of design, the device opts for a “traditional” folding in the sense that it closes like one would close a book and takes the form of a tablet once opened.
When unfolded, this Xiaomi Mi Mix Fold offers an 8.01-inch 4: 3 OLED screen with a definition of 2,480 x 1,860 pixels. According to Xiaomi, this slab is capable of handling 200,000 folds / unfolds. You should therefore be quiet for a few years. The Xiaomi Mi Mix Fold also has a 6.52-inch screen on the outside, with a refresh rate of 90 Hz.
Xiaomi has also integrated Harman Kardon speakers to, according to the brand, offer panoramic 3D sound. For the rest, given that it is a resolutely high-end device, there is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 chip with 12 to 16 GB of RAM and up to 512 GB of storage.
The battery is 5,020 mAh and a triple sensor camera module, with liquid lens technology, offers telephoto, ultrawide and a Samsung HMX main sensor of 108 MP.
The deliveries of this Xiaomi Mi Mix Fold should start on April 16, only in China at first, at a price of $1,523.
