“Paint 3D”, which has been built into Windows 10 as standard, will be separated from the OS in version 21H2 (also known as “Sun Valley”) scheduled for fall 2021, and “Edit with Paint 3D” will be available from the context menu. It is reported that it will disappear.

“Paint 3D”, which draws and edits in 3D, is useless for users who have no connection with such work, but when you right-click on an image file, “Edit with Paint 3D” appears in the context menu.

Others said that it was very disturbing, such as starting it by mistake with the standard image editing application “Paint” or accidentally associating it.

Although it can be uninstalled for the time being, the “Paint 3D” option remains in the context menu even after the removal. To remove it, the Registry Editor had to be a tedious task for beginners.

However, according to Windows Latest, a well-established site for Windows information, in Windows 10 21 H2, “Paint 3D” has been moved to the Microsoft Store (not pre-installed), and “Paint 3D” can be found from the right-click menu and “Paint” app.

“Edit” will be deleted. At the same time, it is reported that the “3D Objects” folder, which was also suspected to exist, will no longer be displayed in File Explorer (this was announced in the Insider Preview).

There is a precedent for voice assistant Cortana that Microsoft added new features to the OS standard but eventually separated them and sent them to the store.

It seems natural from the user’s point of view that the habit of editing and drawing 3D objects on a daily basis does not take root, but there may have been a gap in consciousness with MS developers aiming for the future.
