We often see more leaks appear for Google’s smartphones than for many others, and this is once again the case with the Pixel 8 series. In fact, we have already seen a large number of leaks with specs and renders pass by. Meanwhile, however, perhaps the biggest and most credible leak yet has appeared, as here we see actual hands-on images of the phone.

These images were shared on Reddit by a user who claims to have received the phone “from the device team within Google to test it.” The post has also since been deleted (along with the entire Reddit account), but not before Android Police and others saved the images.

From these photos, we can tell that the phone does indeed look like the leaked renders of the Pixel 8 Pro, and some obvious differences from the Pixel 7 Pro can also be seen.

Among these changes are a less rounded screen (though it still appears to have a slight curve), a slightly different camera design with all three lenses in a black, pill-shaped block and an additional sensor under the flash (which, according to previous leaks, may be able to measure temperature). The images also show that the device has more rounded corners than the Pixel 7 Pro.

We wouldn’t look too much behind the color of the device or the strange pattern on the back, as it looks like this Pixel 8 Pro is in a case, and even if it’s not, it could obviously still be a prototype. Probably this is not exactly what the final model will look like once it hits stores anyway.

Some specs also revealed
In addition to the design, these images also show some specs on the screen. 12GB of RAM and 128GB of storage are mentioned on the device’s screen, and we also see the word “husky,” which was previously linked to the Pixel 8 Pro as the codename for the device. We also see the word ‘zuma’ listed, and that word was previously linked to the Tensor G3 processor that the phone is expected to run on.

As always with leaks, we advise you to take all this information with a grain of salt, but at the same time, this does look very credible, especially thanks to all the stickers on the back indicating that this is a test model. It also feels more believable due to the fact that the leaker has since deleted the post and his entire Reddit account.

We probably won’t find out how accurate this leak is until sometime in October, because that’s when the Pixel 8 series is likely to launch. However, Google deals with leaks so often that we’re bound to see more images and rumors about these possible additions to our list of the best smartphones in the meantime.
