‘DOOM 3: VR Edition‘is released for PlayStation VR users and, as you can imagine, the title, developed by Archiact in collaboration with id Software, transforms the classic action horror shooter into a virtual reality experience. How well does the game adapt to this new environment? We discover it while we take a look at its most important features.
The complete and improved experience
‘DOOM 3: VR Edition’ takes the classic id Software shooter, ‘DOOM 3’, and its two expansions: ‘Resurrection of Evil’ and ‘The Lost Mission’, to adapt them to the technology of PSVR. They reveal the truth about the UAC’s sinister experiments involving clashes with unholy creatures in terrifying environments. For our part, there is no lack of an arsenal of emblematic weapons with new textures, shaders and sound effects to destroy the forces of hell throughout more than 15 hours of action.
Optimized for VR
The specific edition for virtual reality allows us to immerse ourselves even more in its horror sequences, with improvements such as the head tracking system to be able to peek around the corners, the shooting at an angle with the weapons with the flashlight mounted, the turn function 180-degree swift to stop sneaking demons in their tracks and a wrist marker to monitor your health, armor, and ammo.
Compatibility
With all this, you can now correctly use and take the pulse of your character’s powerful anti-demon arsenal thanks to the aiming system with the controller that uses a precise technique to explode heads from afar, peek around corners, shoot blindly from behind a point of cover or dodge attacks without having to separate the finger from the trigger, among other possibilities.
Now you can prepare to walk the bloody corridors of a UAC facility ravaged by demonic forces and experience the slaughter of demons in a whole new way with the arrival of PlayStation VR.
