The Peruvian Juan Reynoso, coach of the Cruz Azul of Mexican soccer, acknowledged that his team lacked a trade and that is why he was caught up at the last minute by Monterrey in the Clausura 2022 tournament.

“It happens due to a lack of trade. We had everything to close it, at times we were naive and we had our punishment; doing another analysis is the same thing, the team was superior in many minutes of the game but if you don’t close it you go with the disappointment with which we are at this moment,” he said at a press conference.

In Monterrey, home of the Rayados, the Azules de Reynoso took the lead with goals from Uriel Antuna and the Ecuadorian Bryan Angulo, but the rival scored two goals in added time, from the Argentine Rogelio Funes Mori and the Mexican César Montes.

“It was a spectacular presentation until the last minutes; the tie is a result that would be signed in the previous one, but as it happened, we are not happy at all. The ceiling is high and we have to continue polishing details,” he accepted.

Cruz Azul reached two wins, one draw and seven points. Although he let the victory go, he leads the tournament after three dates, although tomorrow he can be overtaken by Pumas UNAM, if they win or draw against Tigres UANL.

Reynoso praised the dedication of his players and said that it is not appropriate for them to tie them in the way that the Rayados did, although he highlighted the rival’s performance.

“Nobody leaves happy, the effort of the boys was enormous, although we do not take credit away from Monterrey, which has a great squad; this cannot be repeated,” he warned.

According to the coach, at Cruz Azul they build every week and the team has evolved.

“The intention is to see a step up the next game in León. He is training well; the internal competition has grown and it is up to us to continue building this team,” he concluded.

Cruz Azul will reappear on February 7, when it will visit León, on the fourth date of the championship.
