Olivia Smart and Adrián Díaz won the dance gold medal at the Spanish figure skating championship in Jaca, Huesca. Smart and Díaz got 202.47 points while Sara Hurtado and Kirill Jalyavin were scored with 194.35, thus getting the former to revalidate the gold medal.
The Smart and Díaz couple started with a minimal advantage after the rhythmic dance that was played this Saturday, which they expanded with the free dance in which they got 121’77 points. For their part, Sara Hurtado and Kirill Jalyavin completed a high-level program adding 114.45 points.
In the race to represent Spain at the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics, Smart and Díaz now lead Hurtado and Jalyavin by 8.37 points in the absence of a single scoring event: the European Championships in Tallinn (Estonia), which takes place from January 10 to 16, 2022.
