Karim Benzema, a brand new Ballon d’Or winner and a great figure for Real Madrid, will not be present at this Saturday’s match between the merengue team and Sevilla as he is feeling “muscle fatigue” in his left leg.

This was confirmed by the Madrid team in a statement: “After the tests carried out today on our player Karim Benzema by the Real Madrid Medical Services, muscle fatigue has been detected in the quadriceps of his left leg. Evolution is pending.”

In this way, the Italian Carlo Ancelotti will not be able to count on his top figure for a game of care against the Sevilla team, which has been improving under the orders of the Argentine Jorge Sampaoli after a bad start to the campaign that triggered the departure of Julen Lopetegui .

Now it remains to be seen who takes the place up front left vacant by Benzema, although there is the possibility that Ancelotti prefers to strengthen the midfield and use a 100 percent Brazilian forward with Rodrygo and Vinicius Junior.

The merengue team is the only leader in the Spanish League with 28 units and has not yet lost a game after ten presentations, with nine wins and only one draw. Los Blancos have had a great last week, with victory in the Clásico, an award for Benzema in Paris and another victory against Elche during the week.

Benzema has scored six goals this season, including five in La Liga. The question will remain if the Frenchman will be able to be in next week’s match for the Champions League against RB Leipzig, in Germany.
