Who Are Aaron Rodgers?
Aaron Rodgers is a professional American football quarterback for the Green Bay Packers of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football at California, where he set several career passing records, including lowest single-season and career interception rates. He was selected by the Packers in the first round of the 2005 NFL Draft. Rodgers is a two-time NFL Most Valuable Player (MVP) and has led the league in touchdown passes four times. He is also known for his exceptional throwing accuracy and strong arm.
After the Packers were eliminated in the final week of the 2022 season, Rodgers, who is 39, left open the possibility of retirement.
The general manager of the NFL’s Green Bay Packers, Brian Gutekunst, is confident that Aaron Rodgers, the team’s veteran quarterback, will not retire and will return for the 2023 season.
“He’s going to take some time, I think that’s fair. We made a big commitment to him last offseason and it wasn’t just for this year. He’s going to take his time and communication will be constant as we move into next season. Gutekunst told a conference.
After the Packers were eliminated in the final week of the 2022 season, Rodgers, who is 39, left open the possibility of retirement.
“It might be time to walk away. I’ve got to take some time and say, Hell, of course not! I’ve got to get back in there and do another season. I’m not going to hold them hostage. March is free agency, so I just need to some time,” the quarterback confessed after losing in Week 18 to the Lions.
Brian Gutekunst explained that the poor results of the campaign in which Green Bay finished in third place in the North of the Conference, National with eight games won and nine losses, hit the spirit of his quarterback and the entire team.
“It wasn’t a great year offensively for us overall. But we’re confident he can still play at a very high level. I really liked the way he guided us. As we go into the next month we’ll see how he feels.” the manager pointed out.
Gutekunst assured that they will not pressure the four-time NFL Most Valuable Player who already led the Packers to win a Super Bowl in the XLV edition.
“We talked this week and they were very good conversations. We talked about the season, what went well, what went wrong, what he liked and what he didn’t, but not a lot of future things; I’ve always tried to give him his time,” he added. .
One of the reasons that could influence the veteran to play one more season is the 60 million dollars that he is guaranteed if he decides to return to the controls of the team.
Aaron Rodgers has played with the Green Bay Packers since he was drafted in 2005. In 18 years with the team he has started 15 seasons.
In the season that ended he completed 64.6 percent of his passes, racked up 3,695 yards, 26 touchdowns and 12 interceptions.
