Teoscar Hernandez hit a three-run homer, fellow Dominican Vladimir Guerrero homered as the Toronto Blue Jays beat the Chicago Cubs 5-3 on Tuesday night.

Kevin Gausman pitched six solid innings to win his second straight decision. The Blue Jays stringed together victories after losing three in a row.

Toronto is in position to advance to the playoffs with one of three wild-card spots.

Guerrero totaled three hits and two produced.

Willson Contreras and Christopher Morell hit back-to-back home runs for the Cubs. However, Contreras left in the sixth inning with an apparent leg injury.

After getting the home run from him, Contreras limped around the base.

Gausman (10-9) gave up two runs on five hits. He walked and struck out nine, including five in a row, in the second and third innings.

Jordan Romano closed out the duel to earn his 28th save in 32 attempts.

Left-hander Brendon Little (0-1) made his major league debut in relief of Marcus Stroman in the sixth inning, but blew the lead before getting a single out.

For the Cubs, the Venezuelan Contreras 2-1 with a run scored and an RBI. The Mexican Alfonso Rivas 2-1. Dominicans Franmil Reyes 4-0, Morel 4-2 with one run scored and two RBIs.

For the Blue Jays, the Dominicans Guerrero 4-3 with a run scored and two RBIs, Hernández 4-1 with a run scored and three RBIs, Santiago Espinal 3-0. Cuban Lourdes Gurriel 4-0.
