Raheem Sterling will rejoin England’s World Cup squad after an armed robbery at his home in Britain.

The Chelsea striker left Qatar to join his family, missing out on Sunday’s 3-0 win over Senegal in the round of 16.

He will return to the Middle East to join Gareth Southgate’s squad ahead of the quarter-final against France on Saturday at the Al Bayt Stadium in Al Wakrah, south of Doha.

“Raheem Sterling will return to the England camp in Qatar,” the England FA said on Thursday. “The Chelsea striker left temporarily to attend to a family matter but is now expected to rejoin the team at Al Wakrah on Friday before the quarterfinals with France.
