Carlos García has been re-elected unanimously this Saturday as president of the Spanish Surfing Federation, a position he has held since 2004. García was the only candidate and received unanimous support during the body’s general assembly, which was held online.
The federation, created in 2000, had Ramón Gil as president until 2004, when Carlos García acceded to the position. García practiced handball, basketball and tennis and came to surf with his children. The classification of a Spanish athlete for the Tokyo Games, where surfing will debut as an Olympic sport, It is the great challenge that the federation is currently facing.
The last chance to qualify will be the World Surfing Games that will be played in El Salvador from May 29 to June 6. Five places will be distributed for men and seven for women.
