Bad Bunny Triumphs in Puerto Rico with WWE: Puerto Rican Combat to Headline the Show… And his first victory!

The Latin American rapper showed off an arsenal of interesting moves and stole the show in front of his Puerto Rican audience.

Puerto Rican rapper Bad Bunny is probably the biggest music star in the world right now, but he knows how to do a lot of other things well, as he proved this Saturday by participating in WWE’s Backlash event, where he put on a more than remarkable fight and show for someone who is not a wrestling pro.

Bad Bunny’s Impressive Wrestling Skills: A Natural Gift or a Passionate Fan’s Dedication?

With his appearance at WrestleMania (the SuperBowl of pressing catch) last month as a backdrop for the story and wrestling, Bad Bunny has spent the last few weeks heating up his rivalry with Damian Priest, a personal friend of the Puerto Rican-born singer, with whom he actually debuted in a WWE ring a couple of years ago.

Every time the popular singer has stepped into a WWE ring, he has shown that he has a natural gift for the art of show business. In fact, he has confessed on many occasions that he is a staunch fan of wrestling, a sport with a lot of culture in Puerto Rico. And yet, every time he sticks his head out to get physically involved in a story, his fluency and dexterity are more and more surprising.

Bad Bunny stuns WWE fans with impressive wrestling skills at Backlash event

On the microphone, logically, he has no problem, but he proved to the world what he is made of in the melee. He took all the blows from one of the hardest hitters in the industry, no matter how much of a personal friend Bunny is; he went through a pile of tables with his own body, with no other protections; and he finished with victory to make the audience explode in jubilation, executing one of the most complex and difficult moves to perform safely, effectively and eye-catching: the Canadian Destroyer.

It is very likely that, given his popularity and innate talent to entertain even from a ring, this is not the last time we will see him wrestle. For WWE, Bad Bunny is one of its most famous fans, the key to fully access the Latin market, and for Bad Bunny, it is a childhood dream to be part of the company’s shows. So much, in fact, that he doesn’t mind putting his physical integrity in danger as he did this Saturday.

Besides, Bad Bunny has an advantage, and that is that he looks credible in the ring and doesn’t look out of place like other celebrities in the past (see Shaquille O’Neal, Snoop Dogg…). Youtuber Logan Paul, without going any further, is the best example. He has already had a world title fight thanks to the charisma he exudes, the fan attraction power he possesses, and the physical and technical ability he has demonstrated in the ring…. Will Bad Bunny be next?
