Renting an apartment or property is possible even when you do not have a credit history. In Globe Live Media we tell you how you can do it

Having a credit history is the door to many of our dreams or even needs, such as buying a house, a car, applying for a personal loan or even for renting a property they ask you to check your payment facilities.

However, it is not impossible to do it, you just have to meet a series of requirements, among which are:

1.- Present a driver’s license

This is the only document that will make you valid as an official identification, if you do not have a Social Security card. If you are a foreigner, you can also present your passport or your ITIN, which is your Individual Taxpayer Identification Number.

2.- Check your income

You can use your pay stubs or any other proof that you are eligible to pay any debt.

3.- Check that you have to pay the deposit that is requested for the rent

It is something that they will generally ask you when renting an apartment. This deposit serves as insurance in the event that you have to move out of the property or have repairs made to it after you have lived there.

4.- Show that you have references

It is one of the requirements for people to be able to communicate with someone who knows how to tell them about your experience, about your way of being as a person and how trustworthy you are.

Now, now that you know what the requirements are, if you do not have a credit history, we suggest you take the following steps:

1.- Choose an apartment that is of a single owner, that is, that is not managed by any company and thus it is easier for you to negotiate that they give you the rent.

2.- Move as soon as possible, since the more days that property is uninhabited, the less money the landlords lose, due to the costs of water, electricity and other public services that must be paid.

3.- Show your income or even that you have some savings.

4.- Offer to advance a few months of rent as insurance for the deposit you are making.

5.- Offer to make a contract for short periods, this may give the owner more security to meet you, in which they can establish a long-term relationship.

6.- Get a roommate to participate as a co-signer with you when renting the space.
