The Cuban singer Dayami Lozada, known as the “Barbie of salsa”, was murdered this Saturday afternoon at her home, victim of several gunshots in the municipality of Benito Juárez (Cancun) in the tourist state of Quintana Roo in Mexico .
The crime against the 44-year-old woman occurred inside her house located on Ciénegas street in the Hacienda Real del Caribe subdivision , in Cancun.
According to versions of the neighbors, who were the ones who called the emergency numbers, the victim received at least five gunshot wounds.
According to the local authorities of Quintana Roo, who cordoned off the crime scene, the singer had direct bullet wounds which caused her death. So far the authorities continue to investigate whether it was a direct attack or another type of mobile.
The 44-year-old Cuban singer and salsa singer had lived in Mexico for more than 15 years; where he worked in bars, discos and nightclubs.
