Sinead O’Connor was preparing a new album before her death

The Irish singer Sinead O’Connor was also planning her autobiography and a world tour.

Sinead O’Connor passed away last Wednesday at her home in London. This news surprised the whole world, especially her entourage, as she was finishing a new album, was preparing a tour and was planning to take her autobiography to the screen, her representatives announced.

“Sinead was finishing her latest album, reviewing dates for a new tour in 2024 and considering opportunities to make a film adaptation of her book Rememberings,” which is autobiographical and was published in 2021, her representatives Kenneth and Carl Papenfus, expressed on the official site of her agency, 67 Gestion.

“Wonderful plans were in development at this time,” they stressed, in their statement they also expressed their condolences to the singer’s family and thanked those who were by her side and worked on these projects.

When O’Connor was promoting her memoir “Rememberings,” she revealed that she had explained to her children how important it is to protect her music and finances, so she asked them to call her accountant before talking to 911 in case she was found dead.

“Look, when artists are dead, they’re a lot more valuable than when they’re alive. Tupac has released a lot more albums since he died than he did while he was alive, so it’s kind of disgusting what record companies are doing,” she told People magazine.

“That’s why I’ve always instructed my kids since they were very young: ‘If your mother dies tomorrow, before you call 911, call my accountant and make sure the record companies don’t start releasing my records and don’t tell you where the money is,'” he explained.

The interpreter of ‘Nothing Compares 2 U’ was found “unconscious” at her London home, British police reported last Thursday, specifying that her death “is not considered suspicious”.

“Police received a call at 11.18am on Wednesday 26 July to reports of an unconscious woman at a residential address in the SE24″ area, a zip code in the southeast of the British capital, Scotland Yard reported.

“A 56-year-old woman was pronounced dead at the scene (…) The death is not considered suspicious,” it added without specifying her name, as police regulations in the UK dictate.

“The next of kin have been notified…. A file will be prepared for the coroner,” added the police statement.

The singer’s family had announced her death to Irish media. “It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Sinead. Her family and friends are devastated and ask for privacy at this very difficult time,” they said in a statement broadcast by Irish public broadcaster RTE.

In 2022, her 17-year-old son Shane took his own life. O’Connor, who has three other children, had to be hospitalized after claiming on social media that she too was considering suicide.
