Actress Shannen Doherty shared with her social media followers the news that her breast cancer metastasized.
This Tuesday, the “Beverly Hills, 90210” star posted on her verified Instagram account a video in which she appears receiving treatment, while tears fill her eyes. The message that accompanied the post began with “January 12, 2023.”
“On January 5, my CT scan revealed metastases in my brain. Yesterday’s video showed the process of fitting the mask you wear during radiation to your brain,” he continued. “January 12 was the first round of radiation.”
“My fear is obvious. I am extremely claustrophobic and there is a lot going on in my life,” wrote Doherty, 52. “I am fortunate because I have excellent doctors like Dr. Amin Mirhadi and the amazing technicians at Cedar Sinai. But that fear…. The upheaval…the timing of it all…. This is what cancer can look like,” the message concluded.
The “Charmed” star was first diagnosed with breast cancer in 2015, which went into remission two years later. In 2020, Doherty announced that her cancer had returned, had spread and was stage 4.
