In addition to the third peak of covid-19 in Colombia, one of the issues in the public debate in recent days has been the tax reform, also called the ‘Sustainable Solidarity Law’, established in the Congress of the Republic; especially due to the affirmation of the Minister of Finance, Alberto Carrasquilla, that the country had cash only for six weeks.

“Tax reform is necessary”, this has been insisted on by the national government. And in this context, on April 26, the contracts that the twitterer Natalia Bedoya has with entities such as the Ministries of Interior and Justice, and governments such as those of Valle del Cauca, were announced. The figures have generated outrage on social networks, so much so that this lawyer, a declared Uribista, has been a trend on Twitter.

The representative to the Chamber David Racero was one of those who announced the millionaire contracts of Natalia Bedoya. On his Twitter account, the congressman published the lawyer’s labor agreements accompanied by the following sentence:

“$ 20,233,000 is what Colombians are paying each month to the Twitter user Natalia Bedoya on account of two simultaneous contracts signed with the government of Iván Duque”. And he adds: “One in the Interior Ministry, with fees of $ 10,448,000 a month, another in the Justice Ministry, for $ 9,785,000 a month”

The image shows that between March 17 and April 23, the gross amount of four contracts signed with the Government (two with the Interior Ministry and two with the Justice Ministry) was $ 30’393,700 and the net amount, $ 28 ‘ 805,452.

Another of the contracts to be known on Twitter shows that Natalia Bedoya signed a contract for the provision of her professional services with the Government of Valle del Cauca, which runs from January 28, 2021 to April 30, for $ 28,000,000.

The contract for the provision of services with the Government of Valle del Cauca, whose charge was 28,000,000 pesos, was for the coordination of five meetings, according to the document signed by Natalia Bedoya:

– Meeting between Invima and the Government of Valle del Cauca.

– Meeting between the Secretary of Ethnicity and the Ministry of the Interior.

– Meeting between the Directorate of Transparency and the Ministry of the Interior.

– Meeting between the Ministry of New Technologies and the Government of Valle del Cauca.

– Meeting between the Secretariat of Ethnicities and the Ministry of Agriculture.

One of the critics of the contracts between the National Government and Natalia Bedoya was the lawyer and activist of Colombia Humana Alberto Ortiz Galindo. “In the middle of the pandemic, Duque gives a contract of more than 20 million pesos a month to Natalia Bedoya, her friend from Twitter, while asking Colombians to pay for the tax reform and put their hands on their hearts, “he published.
