Mindy Kaling says she “doesn’t mind” if people think BJ Novak is the father of her kids.
The ‘The Sex Lives of College Girls’ creator – who keeps the identity of the father of her four-year-old daughter Katherine and 23-month-old son Spencer to herself – doesn’t mind if people think her ‘The Office’ co- Star (43) who is the father. The 43-year-old comedian told ‘Marie Claire’: “He’s godfather to both of my kids – and they have such a great relationship – and so far [the rumours] haven’t affected my happiness at all, it hasn’t affected my kids or BJ. If that’s what excites people, then I’ll take it.”
Mindy revealed that she will talk about it when the time is right. “I’m the only parent my kids have. I think I’m more careful so there are fewer things they can be mad at me about later.”
Mindy explained to the magazine why she “waited” to have children on her “own terms.” “I waited until I had the means and that made all the difference,” she said, citing the recent Roe v. Wade, who provided access to safe and legal abortion in the US: “Deciding to have a child – alone, on my own terms – was the best part of my life. I hope women feel safe doing it themselves do.”
