An initiative that aims to encourage and motivate the Hispanic community is the proposal of Mariah Angeliq, Cazzu and Kelly Perez. Here we tell you what it is about.
In order to celebrate Latin pride Mariah Angeliq , Cazzu and Kelly Perez joined the Ritmo y Color initiative created by McDonald’s , where, in addition to transforming the establishments where there are, precisely, strong Latin roots to give it its identity through artists of this community, a free concert will be offered via streaming. The singers consider that this type of campaign is essential to show the true face of Hispanics. “I think it’s important to show the United States the way that Latinos have to make art,” Cazzu told GLM .
“Many things are idealized and it is believed that Latinos are one, but it is not true,” she warned. “I am Argentine, Mariah grew up between Miami, Puerto Rico and Cuba, she has blood from everything. We have Kelly who has other roots and I think the important thing is to show people that we are different because we come from different places with different cultures and America. Latina is too big to unify everyone as in a sepia color or in a sauce. “
For her part, Mariah Angeliq considers it essential to “show that we are different” even though they are all of Latin origin. In addition, these types of movements are a way to encourage personal growth. “In this case the three of us are different and we have something special. Not only is it for us, but to be able to inspire all the Latinos who are out there and [know] that they are capable of doing the same as well,” she mentioned.
For her part, Kelly Pérez said that the work she developed entitled “Wake up a sleeping heart” with which she intends that those who see her “have a moment to be able to just relax, enjoy the colors and feel positive”; You want them to “feel good”. “The idea [is to show] all this of the new world movement with technology and with women from different cultures such as Cazzu from Argentina, Mariah from Puerto Rico and Cuba, me from Venezuela. We are women represented in various ways: rap, colors and seeing all that together, “she explained.
“One day that they just put it in, the community loves it and they feel that their area is valid, and that art is public,” he added. “Children, people walking and feel that their community has art and it is important because people feel better and then everyone can continue their life feeling more positive in their mentality and that is important for their life.”
For its part, this artistic proposal will be included in the virtual show offered by Mariah Angeliq and Cazzu, who have long wanted to collaborate. “This [virtual concert] format is the one that helps more people to see it at the same time without it having to happen in one place for certain types of people, but it can be seen by everyone,” she said.
“We can share our history and our experience to inspire the world”,
“We are in the same genre, [but] we have a contrast, a good one. She and I are not alike and we have a different flow. Kelly is also a great artist. The three of us do a good combo and do something different. unite three powerful women is going to see a good show “, commented Mariah Angeliq. “We can share our history and our experience to inspire the world and more Latinos and Latinas. And what better than to see three women because the genre is dominated by men. See a show completely dedicated to women and empowering them.”
