Cuban-American congresswoman María Elvira Salazar responded to criticisms recently made against her by the Cuban Television Newscast, which distorted the congresswoman’s pronouncements against the Castro regime to make them appear to be directed at the people of the Island.

Through her social networks, the Cuban-American dedicated herself to denying the report entitled “María Elvira Salazar, a history of hostilities against Cuba” that the Government used to defame the congresswoman, a strategy used on a daily basis against the political figures who raise the voice against the regime and ask for the freedom of their people.

Elvira Salazar indicated that during the alleged report she assured that she was bad against the Island of Cuba, something that she denied, since she indicated that she is not bad with the Island, but against the Castro government.

“I am not bad against the island of Cuba, I love the Cubans who live inside, I who I despise are those of the regime, who are the ones who oppress the poor Cubans who live inside the island,” said the congresswoman while ensuring that it was time for the population of the Island to be free to live their lives as they wanted.

In the same way, she indicated that she will continue to fight to expose the violations that take place on the island and that she felt honored that an entire report had been dedicated to her in one of the most watched programs in the country, since she was sure that many of the people who looked at it agree with what she thinks of the Cuban government.

“I have to feel honored that these scoundrels who lead the Castro regime have devoted so much time to me in a news program that the whole nation watches, I imagine that many of the people who were watching that news program agreed with what I am saying because they want to take off the yoke they have had for more than 60 years”, she declared.

The congresswoman warned the Cuban government that they have not seen anything yet, because their campaign against them was going to continue.

Likewise, she indicated that the reason she was in the Federal Congress was to fight for the freedom of the Cuban people.
