Oscar winner Jane Fonda (84) threw herself back into her famous red coat and appeared on Friday (December 2) for the first time since the beginning of the corona pandemic in Washington DC at a rally for climate protection. The actress launched the weekly “Fire Drill Fridays” together with Greenpeace in October 2019 with the aim of demanding action against climate change from politicians. Due to the pandemic, the protests have only taken place online since the beginning of 2020.

On her return to Washington DC on Friday, Jane Fonda received support from actress Taylor Schilling (38). Among other things, in her speech, Fonda called on US President Joe Biden (80) to make more efforts to protect the climate and called for a national climate emergency to be declared. “We’re running out of time,” said the 84-year-old. “Scientists say we are in our final decade of action.”
