The Duchess of Lugo has inherited her father’s love for regattas and has not missed one of the Emeritus’ favorite competitions

After a summer in which she has gone practically unnoticed and in which there are hardly any graphic documents of her vacation in Abu Dhabi with the King Juan Carlos, in Bidart with his sister Cristina and in Palma de Mallorca with Queen Sofía, the Infanta Elena has put the finishing touch to her vacation enjoying one of the great passions of the Emeritus in one of her favorite places, Sanxenxo.

And it is that the Duchess of Lugo has traveled to the town of Pontevedra – Don Juan Carlos’ last stop in August 2020 before leaving Spain and settling in Abu Dhabi – to attend the second day of regattas of the Xacobeo 6mR Europeans, which is held at the Real Club Náutico (RCNS), where so many summers we have seen the monarch enjoying with friends and one of his great passions, sailing.

In addition to her love for the sea and for regattas, Doña Elena has also “inherited” her friends from her father, and this time we have seen her accompanied by the president of the yacht club, Pedro Campos, skipper of the ‘Bribón 500’ with whom King Juan Carlos has participated in regattas in previous years and one of the great supporters of the Emeritus.

Very close, the Duchess of Lugo approached the jetty to encourage the sailors and did not hesitate to embark to see the competition up close.

Felipe VI’s sister received the official Xacobeo 6mR Europeans sweatshirt as a gift and did not hesitate to put it on to pose before the photographers with the best of her smiles, in a relaxed attitude that shows how comfortable she feels in one of the places where happier Don Juan Carlos has been in recent years.
