Since the pandemic began, adult entertainment has been one of the sectors that has raised the most money, only in the first three months of 2020, when the quarantine began in the world, the sector’s income increased by 300%, this according to figures from Juan Bustos, one of the pioneers of this business in Colombia.

However, the pornography business model also changed, the digital platforms that allow access to entertainment content became increasingly famous and more money is being raised through them, one of them is Only fans, through which you can sell suggestive or explicit photos and videos and from which a lot of money is moving, One of the pioneers of this business and one of the most sought-after women on the platform is the Colombian porn actress Esperanza Gómez, who has been working through this medium for the last four years.

From Infobae we spoke with her to find out how the change has been from working with traditional porn and clearly migrating to digital platforms. She also clarified that she has not retired from porn, which, on the contrary, is more current than ever.

“For a long time people have believed that I retired from porn, what I retired from is doing events to the public. I haven’t done it for about four years, but I’m still here in adult entertainment, in love, working, producing, as usual, ”said the actress.

He also made it clear that, very contrary to what people think, pornography has not expired, what happened to the business is that it was updated and not precisely in a pandemic, it did so many years ago, only that in Latin America it came later .

“There are people who are saying that pornography is out of date, but no, pornography changed, four years ago, I started with the new platforms, with live broadcasts through social networks and with platforms like Only fans, which is all the rage right now. in Latin America but I have been working with them for several years, what I did was change traditional pornography to work in this way, which is what is moving right now, so it is not that I have been stuck in the past, I am simply evolving in technology ”, he assured.

On the other hand, he made it clear that the business that many see now in this type of platform is being misunderstood because, he assures, that Only Fans is not only for selling adult material, but that the platform allows users to access any type of content, since In the United States, this space was created so that traditional Hollywood artists could make extra money selling unreleased material. Then it was that the porn industry saw an opportunity in this space and began to generate more movement.

Although in Latin America these types of platforms have been making themselves known for less than a year, the actress assures that the Latin public is the most difficult because they do not like to pay for the content, in addition, this is where the platform is being used to launder drug money for which he fears that they may close access in these countries.

Regarding the different criticisms received by women in Colombia who decided to convert these platforms as a means of work, Gómez made it clear that in a country like ours, where the needs abound and the lack of opportunities becomes greater, there are women who choose to do these jobs and who should not be judged, on the contrary, support them.

“I do know of a lot of girls who go to work in adult entertainment despite burning their eyelashes studying. In countries like Colombia it is very difficult for people to give them the opportunity to work, they have just graduated and they ask for 3 years of experience, how will they have experience if they have just graduated. Sometimes the same needs force people to make these kinds of decisions ”.

And although it is still an industry that generates hundreds of millions of dollars a month, the women who work in this profession continue to be discriminated against to which Esperanza responds in a forceful way, which the public in Colombia always judges and is a double standard.

Faced with this issue and the freedom of expression that women have with their bodies, Esperanza dared to speak of feminism and made it clear that, although she supports the movement and the causes to equal rights between men and women, she does not feel identified with many ideologies, several in which men are attacked just for being men, because they believe that women continue to be victimized and that many times when it should be the opposite.

To continue being the reference of Colombian porn for more than ten years:

In front of those who believe that her time as an actress has passed and that it is time to retire, Esperanza assures that it is not expired and that she has more energy than ever to continue working.

“If it expired, people would not be paying to see my content, if it was so old, the identity card is old because it is how one feels, I think that more than age is how one feels physically, I am still here, for me the critics are a zero to the left that does not mean anything.

In addition to her work in porn, the actress is one of the leaders of the web cams guild that is protecting the rights of models in Colombia and one of the people who supported the creation of a law to legalize the business, because she believes that People who live in this industry continue to be stigmatized and discriminated against and cannot access the same rights as a normal person despite paying taxes, having the papers with the DIAN in order and doing the job with all the legal requirements required by the Government .
