The Mexican actor Eugenio Derbez was invited to the program because he is promoting the movie ‘CODA’, available in theaters in the United States and on Apple TV +.

In the film written and directed by Sian Hede, Eugenio found the perfect platform to do something he has longed to do for a long time: disprove stereotypes.

“I am happy because they are giving me the opportunity to break stereotypes,” said Derbez.

“I complained that when (the directors) called me because I was Latino, they always offered me the roles of the gardener or the drug dealer or the criminal. Now that I can represent a music teacher, I feel like I am breaking stereotypes, and that is going to be very useful for the Latino community”.

In the film, Derbez plays a choir teacher who helps pursue the goals of a 17-year-old high school girl who wants to audition for a prestigious university’s music program.
