Here we tell you how he started his career thanks to his particular tone of voice.

“Actor Enrique Rocha passed away this Sunday, November 7, at the age of 81. This was reported by Óscar Espejel, the actor’s employee, without giving more details of the causes of death. One of the Great Actors of Mexico says goodbye, an unforgettable Voice goes off.” Reported the official Televisa account on Twitter.

Then the Secretariat of Culture of Mexico City published: “The Secretariat of Culture of Mexico City regrets the death of the Mexican actor Enrique Rocha. Outstanding actor in film, theater, television and dubbing. Rest in peace”.

How Enrique Rocha started his career taking advantage of his peculiar voice

Enrique Rocha, in an interview that he gave to the Youtube Tlnovelas, explained how it was that he began to develop as an actor. It was an anecdote that the Mexican artist still remembered with remarkable clarity.

“I didn’t want to be an actor. It was a very important and rare coincidence. I was studying architecture. One day a friend of mine invited me to a rehearsal for a play called Despertar de la Primavera, with an excellent director called Juan José Gurrola.” Rocha told the YouTube account.

“We went and coincidentally an actor was missing, who was Juan Ibáñez, an extraordinary director who made Los Caifanes. Later I also made films with him. Gurrola told my friend and me if anyone could come on stage to pass the dialogues, while the actor arrived. Total, Juan Ibáñez never arrived”, he added.

At another point, the late Mexican soap opera actor recounted the precise moment where his voice began to make its way into this union:

“I stayed for an hour saying things, without having any idea what theater was. Then Gurrola tells me: ‘You have a very good voice, a good appearance, I was surprised that he said that, but that’s the way it was. Come tomorrow to see if you want to replace Juan Ibáñez, in the character that I designated. And well I said: ‘Okay, I’ll stop playing cards, gambling and stuff”, he asserted.

“I went to rehearsal the day after, with José Gurrola, and from then on I started doing theater,” the artist concluded.
