The Divo de Placetas withdrew from the studio and not precisely because of political issues in Cuba, but because of his “coming out of the closet”, a phrase that was not to his liking.
Eduardo Antonio assured that he has never come out of the closet that a guy like him does not have to come out of the closet.
At the end of last year, the artist publicly presented his boyfriend, Roy García, with a couple of photos on his personal Instagram account.
“The only thing I will say is that I am a lover of love, life is the most important thing we have and there is only one. People’s prejudices sometimes torment us and when this happens, like what we are experiencing, like the global pandemic, we realize what is truly important,” Eduardo Antonio told the Mexican press.
“I’m in love and I shout it from the rooftops,” added the native of the municipality of Placetas, in central Cuba.
In the photos, you can see both with engagement rings, while holding their hands together on García’s chest, younger than Eduardo Antonio.
In February of this year, Eduardo Antonio revealed his intentions to have a wedding in style from the América Tevé studios.
“I want to tell all my friends on digital platforms, those who are concerned and want to know, that I have several proposals to celebrate my wedding,” said the Divo de Placetas.
“América Tevé is in negotiations with me,” he clarified in a video uploaded to the Miami channel.
Eduardo Antonio shows himself freer every day and more in love with his new boyfriend. After “coming out of the closet” in an unexpected public announcement, the Divo does not stop sharing tender photos with his current partner, Roy García.
“Together we go to all of them because that’s how our love is, I love you,” Eduardo Antonio wrote to Roy on Facebook.

After the publication, the followers of Eduardo Antonio gave majority support to his decision.

However, an issue worried several followers who also reacted to the news, and it has to do with the fact that a few months ago Eduardo Antonio asked a friend to marry him. “You recently asked a woman for marriage, so they have already left?” Asked an Instagram user.
The also actor, who was one of the boyfriends Niurka has loved the most in her life and with whom he lived a fiery relationship in 2010, said he was going through one of the best stages of his life.
And despite constant comments about his alleged homosexuality, the singer insisted that he was not gay. Even in an interview with Don Francisco in 2010, as he outlined at that time People, the Cuban divo assured not to be homosexual.
