On November 2, Doña Sofía turns 83 with a youthful appearance in part thanks to her new hairdresser

When she turned eighty, Sofia from Greece and Emeritus Queen of Spain, she received the most valuable of gifts: to gather the whole family around her table. She had been waiting for this magical moment for more than five years. And she had even officially posed on the steps of Zarzuela.

It was the first time in a long time that Kings Felipe and Letizia were photographed with the Infanta Cristina, removed from official life. There was also the King Emeritus. Doña Sofía has always known that her husband leads a life on the sidelines.

And not only with Marta Gayá or Corinna Larsen, the officers. They led separate conjugal lives with what that entails. The only thing she always asked for (and with more than one blow on the table) was discretion. Which is not happening today.

For Don Felipe, the Queen Emeritus has always remained faithful to her commitment to the crown of the Kingdom of Spain and has had no problem reloading her schedule when the pandemic has allowed her to.

Thus, Doña Sofía turns 83 next November 2 and makes it more radiant than ever. She continues to be an asset for Casa Real, her popularity – never officially measured – remains high and constant and her trips abroad are no longer seen as escapes, but are seen as within the normality of a woman with her dispersed family across Europe and that she no longer has to pretend that she lives in the Palacio de la Zarzuela with her husband.

Doña Sofía reaches 83 years old full and vital. Meat has been out of their diet for a long time, as is alcohol, and they are only allowed to have a sweet treat from time to time. It is common for her to walk around El Pardo with his dogs.

She is loved by her children, grandchildren, siblings, and nephews. She maintains contact with Don Juan Carlos by video call and lives a busy day to day with her sister Irene, whom she adores and cares for. With the chapter on conjugal love closed to public opinion, Doña Sofía shines more than ever.
