Secretary of State for USAAntony Blinken, expressed this Sunday his confidence that Sweden y Finland are incorporated into the OTAN once they formally request it, despite the concerns expressed by Turkey.
“The United States would strongly support applying for admission to the OTAN by Sweden or Finland, in case they decide to request it formally”, declared Blinken to journalists after the meeting of the Foreign Ministers of the Military Alliance in Berlin.
Blinken said he had heard “almost widespread and very strong support” for accessions to the OTAN.
“I am sure we will reach consensus”said.
