Passionate Tragedy: Man Killed Ex-Wife, Then Shot Himself in NJ
A 49-year-old mother was shot to death by her ex-husband, who then shot himself in New Jersey. The woman had called 911 to report that there was an intruder in her apartment.
Kimberly Hoffman, a 49-year-old mother, was shot to death by her ex-husband Carl Schulz Jr. (52), who then shot himself in New Jersey.
Police found Hoffman’s body shot in the face after her apartment door was forced open in Little Egg Harbor Village, said Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley Billhimer. Officers were responding to a 911 call from herself made around 5:10 a.m. Saturday reporting that someone was breaking into her residence. Schulz and Hoffman’s dog were also found with gunshot wounds at the scene.
Schulz apparently killed his ex-wife and dog, then fatally shot himself in the head. The gunman was still alive when officers arrived at the apartment. But he later died at AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center in Atlantic City, station NJ101.5 FM reported.
