A passenger train has derailed in Montana, USA, at approximately 4 in the afternoon on the Montana Hi-Line.

According to KTVH, it would be the train “Amtrak” that works between Chicago and Seattle. The authorities have already arrived at the scene and the images on social networks show the passengers off the tracks.

The aforementioned American media pointed out that the train “Empire Builder 7/272″ Derailed five wagons near Joplin.

“There are approximately 147 passengers and 13 crew members on board, and injuries were reported. Amtrak is working with local authorities to transport injured passengers and safely evacuate all other passengers,” commented the rail company’s public relations manager, Jason Ambras.

In the images, one wagon is seen completely on its side, while others are off the tracks. A witness said that he helped the passengers out of the scene. “We had to get some people out with a lot of volunteers and then cut some iron.” Jeremiah Johnson commented.

At the moment the passengers are believed to be being transported by bus to Chester High School or Chester Senior Center. No deaths have been confirmed so far, only injuries.
