Petition calling for Donald Trump to be barred from running for president again for allegedly violating the Constitution hopes to reach 200,000 signatures

Donald Trump is not having a good time in recent days and it is all due to his lack of tact on such sensitive issues, such as opening the doors of his mansion to a group of anti-Semites for dinner or mentioning that the Constitution of the United States must be “cancelled.” Following these actions, the progressive campaign group Move On more than 125,000 people have signed to prevent Trump from running for president again.

The petition calls on secretaries of state, state election officials and members of Congress to “disqualify” Trump from holding public office over allegations that he violated the 14th Amendment due to his actions surrounding the Capitol Hill riot. of the US on January 6, 2021.

“Donald Trump and his associates masterminded, promoted, and paid for a criminal conspiracy that escalated into the January 6 insurrection,” the petition states. “We need to strike back even harder to hold Trump to account for his actions in damaging our democracy with actions that continue today and are focused on laying the groundwork for his next coup to put him in the White House in 2024 regardless of will. of the voters.”

So far the petition has caused 125,000 people to sign it and it is expected to reach 200,000.

In the comment box you can read the following: “Trump has violated the Constitution. Either we are a nation of laws that believes in the Constitution or we are not. This is our chance to say who we are.” “A peaceful demonstration is one thing. Destroying the capital and looking for people to harm, as well as destroying their offices, is quite another. They should be prevented from running for any government post.” “Trump keeps talking about voter fraud, a baseless statement that many Americans are buying.”
